Run # 3

Took a day off and got back at it. Managed to eek out the first mile… I mean that is something right? A full mile. Yes it took me 15 minutes, but I did it!  BOOM!  And now for that beer…  How do you reward yourself for a run?  I love beer so that is my favorite post run reward, but I also like ice cream.  Who doesn’t love ice cream. Plus it has some protein I’m sure. Running and then ice cream can only be topped by running and then beer. Or if you are crazy and it is your birthday, BEER FLOAT. Nice dark coffee stout and vanilla ice cream. That is the ultimate, but only once a year.

I have gone up and down in weight over my life. I ran cross-country in high school, but that was 25 years ago. I was up to 245lbs at 5'6" tall, not good. I have tried all different styles of eating, from vegan to low-carb. After really seeing how out of shape I was, I decided to get in shape. A year later, I have been running at least 3 days a week and am getting ready for my first marathon. As a fat runner, I'm not fast, I'm not going to win, but I will finish.
