1st week in Nashville

I’m visiting family in Nashville, TN. It is such a big difference from San Diego!  Well, I’ve been running every day and enjoying it for a change.  It is really beautiful here.  The parks are green, there is water everywhere, and the trees keep the trails nice and shady. I haven’t run in parks since I was in high school, and I realized how much I like the trails.  Running on the beach is a lot harder than running through the woods!  I’m eating a lot, go figure Easter dinner with a southern family.  Since I’ve been running every day, I doubt I’ve gained much weight.  I also decided to run the Rock ‘n roll 5k while I’m here.

I have gone up and down in weight over my life. I ran cross-country in high school, but that was 25 years ago. I was up to 245lbs at 5'6" tall, not good. I have tried all different styles of eating, from vegan to low-carb. After really seeing how out of shape I was, I decided to get in shape. A year later, I have been running at least 3 days a week and am getting ready for my first marathon. As a fat runner, I'm not fast, I'm not going to win, but I will finish.
